Africa

Africa is the second-largest and second-most-populous continent on Earth, located to the south of Europe and bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the Indian Ocean to the southeast, and the Red Sea to the northeast. It is comprised of 54 recognized sovereign countries, along with various territories and regions. The continent is broadly recognized for its diverse cultures, languages, ecosystems, and geographical features, including deserts, savannas, mountains, and forests. Africa is known for its significant historical contributions, including ancient civilizations such as Egypt and Nubia, as well as its rich natural resources and biodiversity. The continent has a complex social and political history, shaped by colonialism, independence movements, and modern development challenges. Africa’s geographical diversity supports a wide range of climates and habitats, which in turn influences the continent’s agriculture, economy, and cultural practices.
