Serie A

Serie A is the top professional football (soccer) league in Italy. Established in 1898, it is one of the most prestigious and competitive leagues in the sport, featuring a number of historic and successful clubs, such as Juventus, AC Milan, and Inter Milan. Serie A operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Serie B, the second tier of Italian football. The league consists of 20 teams that play each other twice, once at home and once away, in a round-robin format. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion.
