Вакцини

“Вакцини” (translated as “vaccines” in English) refers to biological preparations that provide acquired immunity to a particular infectious disease. A vaccine typically contains an agent that resembles a disease-causing microorganism or is derived from it, and is often made from weakened or killed forms of the microbe, its toxins, or one of its surface proteins. When introduced into the body, vaccines stimulate the immune system to recognize the agent as a threat, produce antibodies, and prepare the immune system to fight the disease in case of future infection. Vaccines are a crucial element of public health, helping to prevent the spread of diseases and protect individuals, especially vulnerable populations, from serious illness. They are used in various forms, including those for childhood immunizations, travel vaccines, and annual flu shots, and play a significant role in the control and eradication of infectious diseases worldwide.
